BrewED Goes Wild will offer craft beer, wine, wild game and other free-range, mouth-watering morsels throughout the Tavern-like, antique-filled rooms of the 18th century homestead and in the connecting 1827 Barn with its soaring posts and beams. As always, the focus is on finely brewed craft beers that proclaim New England’s rapid accession to rival those from the Northwest.

For this year’s BrewED Gone Wild, brewing experts from 1757 GW Beer, Charter Oak Brewing Company, Cisco Brewers, and Two Roads Brewing Company will be at the Darien Historical Society to guide attendees in tastings, to educate about their special brews and to suggest unique food pairings for their beer. Other craft brewers who cannot attend the event but are sending their special brews for attendees to sample at BrewED, include Saranac (Matt Brewing Company), Berkshire Brewing Co., Brooklyn Lager, Cottrell Brewing Co. and Thomas Hooker (representatives hope to attend as well). So that’s nine different craft beers that attendees can learn about and a few more additional breweries might still come, as well.

Last year’s fun BrewED is now the new and improved “BrewED Goes Wild,” because the delicious craft beer will be matched with all food things wild: venison, wild boar, tuna, buffalo, game birds, elk, Indian cuisine and wild mushrooms! This night’s sumptuous offerings will include the deliciously aromatic specialties of Coromandel Cuisine of India, tuna tartare from Fisherman’s Net, venison sliders from Michael Joseph’s Fine Foods and wild boar tacos, buffalo burgers, game birds, elk meatballs and wild mushroom meatballs prepared by local chefs.

BrewED has also gone wild with Connecticut's great out-of-doors. Hunting, fishing, hiking and water sport outfitters will join us with demonstrations, including Complete Angler, Orvis, CT Island Outfitters and more to come.

BrewED Goes Wild is a FUNdraiser for the Historical Society’s programs. Last year's event was a huge success with more than 150 in attendance, and this year’s event is sure to sell out. So don’t wait, the entrance fee is $55 for Members and $65 for non-members.
