Annual Membership Meeting and Lecture on Sunday, October 4, 2015 @ 4pm

The Darien Historical Society Presents Our Annual Membership Meeting and Lecture 

on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 4:00pm. Officers will present remarks on the past year and our plans ahead. Membership will vote to approve Board Members.

Current Board Members Nominated for Another Term:
Mollie Fullington, Julie Johnston, Kate Larson, Rudy Mossa, Dave Polett & Joe Spain

New Candidates Nominated for Board Membership:
Jared Heuer & Sara Zagrodzky

Background of Jared Heuer
Jared Heuer was raised in Savannah, GA and attended St. Lawrence University, receiving a degree in English Literature. Jared also has a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University. Jared is the managing partner of a real estate investment firm that is based in Stamford, Ct. Having grown up in Savannah, Jared has an appreciation for the history of Darien and how that history has shaped the growth and success of our town.

Background of Sarah Zagrodzky
Sarah Zagrodzky was born and raised in Houston and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Agriculture. Sara serves on the Board of the Saint Catherine Center for Special Needs, as Treasurer of the Good Wife's River Chapter of the Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution and as a Deacon for the Noroton Presbyterian Church. Sara has been Co-Director of our Historical Society's elementary education program for several years. In 2014, Sara was our Volunteer of the Year along with Kathy Karlik and Sarah Keena.

New Candidate Nominated to Fill Interim Vacany for 2015-2016 Year:
Lynn Sheppard

Background of Lynn Sheppard
Lynn Sheppard is well known to most DHS members, having served on the DHS Board for two three-year terms through 2012. In 2012, Lynn was our Volunteer of the Year for her many years of service, particularly for our Collections and our Exhibitions. In addition to her prior membership on the Board, Lynn was the co-curator of our Crazy Quilts exhibit and has provided invaluable assistance on all of our exhibitions in the Scofield Barn. Also, Lynn currently serves on our Collection Committee.
