Tom Kelleher, historian and curator at Old Sturbridge Village, talks about daily life and national trends in the early decades of the 19th century, when Darien first became an independent town. 
Back then, James Monroe was leading the country, a spiritual reawakening was taking hold and daily life revolved around the rhythms of nature.
